We got the family picnic pack that feeds 6, which came with 16 pieces of fried chicken, two sides and choice of bread. They had run out of the slaw so we got the corn on the cob and potato salad, and hush puppies. We also tried the pink lemonade. Chicken was AWESOME. Potato salad (a mustard base) was also very good. Hush puppies were crispy and moist on the inside. The only thing that was not good was the corn on the cob- was very overlooked and mushy- yuck. All in all pretty good home cooking. Family meal was around $25.

Traditional American fried food. Ordered the Gone fishin platter and the Fried Chicken dinner. Big helpings on each plate. Decent food. They have some brain teaser games at the table that keep everyone entertained. The service was great! Our waitress brought out additional French fry orders (on the house) because they thought the first set of fries might have been cold when they brought out the plates. And they even gave us free to go refills on our sodas!

Good home cooking, good prices. Fried chicken is pretty darn good. I've had better corn bread, but everything else made up for that. We get the carry out often, cannot beat it.

It's been ages since my last (previous) trip to Po Folks, mostly because there haven't been any near where I have lived and traveled to in the past couple of decades. Was worth the stop and the calories...the fried chicken and fried green tomatoes were every bit as good as I remember from years gone by. Bonus: our server was a sweet southern belle that kept the sweet tea filled yo the brim.

If you've experienced a Cracker Barrel, then you've experienced the home-style cooking and plain decoration of PoFolks. Easy menu, lots of fried but there are grilled options too. And lots and lots of inexpensive food. I don't believe that there's anything on the menu over $15. I went with the pork chop dinner, choosing to have two of them. For my sides, cabbage and corn on the cob, with cornbread. I had ordered the fried green tomato starter and that arrived fresh out of the fryer. Way too hot to eat, even with a big pot of ranch dressing for dipping. By the time it cooled, my meal had arrived. The pork chops weren't too thick, but they were thick enough and the bone was easily managed. Quite tasty with a peppery flavor, the sawmill gravy did a good job with it. The cabbage had a meaty/pork flavor to it with small bits of meat. The corn was a little soft but still quite tasty. And the cornbread was excellent. I skipped dessert, having such a large meal. All very good and very filling.

We were not impressed with this restaurant. It's cafeteria-tasting food, like Golden Corral, but table service instead of buffet. My chicken fried steak was hardly worth the price--no flavor, it was a rectangle. What steak is a perfect rectangle?? Ew. Mashed potatoes clearly from a box. Cabbage with a few ham/bacon flecks--absolutely ZERO flavor! Terrible! I went in expecting home cooking and discovered right away that their food is far from it. The only plus was their biscuits--they are the flakiest, most wonderful tasting biscuits ever. Just like homemade. We will not be back to this place.

Stopped through here on the way back home because I did not want to make that three and a half hour drive on an empty stomach. This restaurant specializes in traditional Southern comfort food. The overall decor has an appearance that is reminiscent of typical Southern Grandmother's kitchen. I ordered the lunch special of chicken and dumplings along with the sides of mashed potatoes with gravy and fried okra. For only $5.99 it was quite a bit of food. The dumplings are rather thick but the dish tastes well. For dessert I opted for the Mississippi Mud Pie along with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Words can't describe how delicious that pie was. Try it for yourself. Apparently this place is very popular, because within minutes from my arrival it went from near empty to completely full. This place attracts an older clientele (by "old" in this context refers to senior citizens). In fact, about 80% of the customers appeared to be at least of the legal age of retirement. Even though it felt like I was dining in a nursing home, I will still return the next time I come back to Panama City. My server, Samantha, did an outstanding job today. Kudos to her!

My husband & I have eaten here numerous times. We have always had wonderful quick service and the food has always been great. Today however was the only bad experience we have had. The service was terrible. They were not very busy when we arrived and placed our order but as we sat and waited over 35 minutes for our order to be served. Our food never came Other tables that were seated long after we were seated had been served their food and were enjoying their meals before we finely had an explanation that my "chicken sandwich" was the hold up by the cooks. The waitress said she had talked to her General Manager but for some reason our food never arrived. No apology from the GM, just several excuses from our waitress. Funny how the cooks were getting everyone else's food out in a reasonable time, just my sandwich was giving them trouble. I suspect the waitress may have fumbled the ball. We finally decided after 40 minutes to leave, hungry, and went down the street to Smitty's and enjoyed a quick satisfying lunch.

Came here because Of the RAVING reviews on Yelp. HA! I ordered the chicken n' dumpling lunch special. Came with a choice of bread and two sides. I chose green beans and Mac and cheese. The green beans were your typical southern green bean stew with ham or bacon for flavor. Well, there wasn't ham or bacon but something that resembled brisket? I don't know. They were ok. Not horrible... Have you guys ever had the frozen Mac and cheese platters? That is exactly what theirs tastes like. Banquet Mac and cheese. To top it all off, my chicken and dumplings were more of a soup than I'm used to. I like them super creamy but theirs was runny and less than flavorful. They were also room temp so I couldn't stomach more than a couple of bites. This place is dirty. It smells like 50 years of cigarettes (and as a smoker, If it bothers me there is something wrong) and fried chicken. Yelp has never let me down. But sometimes... I don't know. 4.5 stars?! I don't think so.

Super country cooking! I had the fried shrimp plate which was reasonably priced for lunch! The biscuit is amazing although I found out they aren't made in house which broke my heart! I've also had their fried fish and chicken! It's good. Really good.

I love their chicken, it's one of the best I have ever tasted. The service was good and the price is right. I will come again and try the chicken and dumplings.

Stopped by here on our way back up north from Florida and this place is fantastic! Real southern food and real southern charm. They were close to closing time, but didn't mind preparing fresh meals for us and it was well worth the wait. The hush puppies, chicken n dumplings, chicken gizzards, fried chicken, okra, all of it was delicious! So happy we decided to stop at this little gem!

I hadn't been to a Po Folks since middle school and decided to hit this place up since I'm down here in PC. The food was excellent home-style cooking. I had the grilled fish, turnip greens, and red beans with rice. And get this, it was only $8.50...and came with 2 huge pieces of fish. BAM! Definitely will be going there again during my stay here.
